With the school year well underway, it’s the perfect time to begin thinking about the tutoring, gifted education services and ACT strategies classes taught by certified teachers through locally owned and operated Bluegrass Learning Services in South Central Kentucky

Bluegrass Learning’s in-home tutoring for struggling students is designed for elementary, middle and high school students who have fallen behind.

Our course-specific tutoring for K-12 students is for those who need help to improve a particular class grade.

Gifted and talented services through Bluegrass Learning are set up for K-12 students who could be working above grade level and may have become bored with school because they need a challenge to reignite their love for learning.

Our ACT preparation classes are taught on Saturdays in area high schools and give students an edge when it comes to taking the test that is accepted at all U.S. colleges and is often a basis for hard-to-get scholarships. Classes are scheduled in the weeks leading up to all six national ACT test dates.

Bluegrass Learning Services launched in Bowling Green in June 2014. We set ourselves apart from other local or national tutoring services by having a tutorial staff comprised entirely of certified Kentucky teachers who have more than 100 years of combined teaching experience. These experts have the knowledge and experience to adjust lessons and teaching methods to meet the needs and learning style of each child.

“We don’t use a one size fits all curriculum,” said Bluegrass founder and president, Joseph Deaton. “Kids learn differently. We hire really smart people who have the education and experience to recognize when a lesson is not working and the knowledge to make adjustments to lessons and how they teach.”

Another key difference is there are no long-term contracts. If we’re not meeting your expectations, you won’t be locked into a commitment you paid for in advance.

Also, there’s no guesswork when it comes to our tutoring. Before a tutor comes to your home, our Senior Education Specialist spends one to two hours with your child to administer a series of written and oral mini-tests to uncover exactly what your child needs, how they learn and their willingness and aptitude for tutoring.

After the initial screening and assessment you will receive an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) designed to:

  • Give you an accurate picture of your child’s strength’s and areas of need.
  • Provide our tutors with a roadmap showing what needs to be covered. This helps ensure we maximize tutoring time and you don’t pay for wasted sessions.
  • Provide your child’s school (if you wish to share) with information they can use to better meet the needs of the child.

Our tutoring goal is to QUICKLY get your child caught up with their peers, get them working on or above grade level independently and transition them out of tutoring as soon as possible.

We look forward to serving the education needs of your family.
