Location Information

Enjoy spectacular views from the cupola while seeing how the upper class lived at Bowling Green’s historic house museum, Riverview at Hobson Grove. Built by Atwood and Juliet VanMeter Hobson on a hill overlooking the Barren River, this historic landmark has been restored to its original splendor and is listed on the National Register. An official site on the Civil War Discovery Trail, the house was used for storage of Confederate munitions when the Rebel forces held Bowling Green.

Riverview is an elegant interpretation of a prosperous Victorian home of the 1860 to 1890 period and invites visitors to experience the life of a 19th century family and their servants. Seasonal and specialty tours are offered throughout the year highlighting celebrations of the era and various aspects of the lifestyle. Take home a piece of the Victorian period or Kentucky made products from the lovely Gift Shop.

We are available for group tours. We also have many special porgrams presented throughout the year including the Victorian Valentine Luncheon, Easter Egg Hunt, Victorian Antique and Garden Festival, Christmas Candlelight Tours and other events concentrating mainly on Civil War and Victorian subjects. Group discounts and military discounts are available.

A single meeting room is located on the basement level and is 240 sq. ft., seating 24 at round tables and up to 18 at rectangular tables. A kitchen is available for use and includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. We also rent our lawn and porches for weddings, receptions and special events.
