Press Release:

While it may be grabbing all the headlines now, Florida Georgia Line is not the only concert on tap for Bowling Green Ballpark this summer. On Friday, the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) announced their 2014 postgame concert series. The series announcement comes on the heels of a highly successful performance by Sundy Best at the ballpark on Saturday, April 19.

The postgame concerts are all free with the purchase of a ticket to that night’s game. Sundy Best electrified the stage on to kick-off the summer series, and are just one of four major acts that are a part of the concert series at the ballpark this summer, along with Florida Georgia Line. The other acts coming this summer will be Clayton Anderson on May 24, Audio Adrenaline on July 26, and the Spazmatics on August 30.

“Our commitment to bring more than just baseball to South-Central Kentucky continues,” said Hot Rods general manager and chief operating officer, Adam Nuse. “We’re really excited about our concert series. The fact they’ll be free for the fans who attend the games is great, and it adds yet another reason to make the Hot Rods a family’s night out.”

Clayton Anderson is an up-and-coming music artist who has already seen great success on country’s biggest stage. His first record, Torn Jeans & Tailgates, reached the twelfth spot on the iTunes Country Chart in 2011. Anderson grew up in Bedford, Ind. and after college, he won Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star competition. That allowed him to leave his job at a mortgage company and move to Nashville. Anderson will perform on Saturday, May 24, following Bowling Green’s contest with the Lake County Captains. First pitch is set for a special time of 6:05 p.m.

Formed in Eastern Kentucky, Audio Adrenaline has gone on to achieve great success, including two Grammy Awards. The Christian Rock group’s first album released in 1992, and sold 75,000 copies. That success was just the precursor of great things to come, and the band sold over 500,000 copies of their album Bloom. Last year, they released Kings & Queens to great reviews. Band members Will McGinniss, Kevin Max, Jared Byers, and Dwayne Larring will electrify the postgame crowd on Saturday, July 26, following the Hot Rods taking on Quad Cities.

The Spazmatics round out the scheduled concert series, and they’ll bring a 1980’s theme to Bowling Green Ballpark. The group’s fun and goofy style has made them hits wherever they’ve played, and they continue to increase their foot print across the region and country. The Spazmatics play regularly in Texas, but will be making their first trip to Kentucky on Saturday, August 30. Their performance will follow the Hot Rods’ contest with the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
