Friendz Salon and Color Studio is excited to welcome their newest stylist, Carli Cornell. A native of Bowling Green, Carli went to Greenwood High School, with continued education from Paul Mitchell the School Louisville. She’s a graduate from Lindsey Institute of Cosmetology. One interesting thing she did while a student at Paul Mitchell she was selected to be a makeup artist in the Annual student lead hair show called ‘The Black and White Ball.’

She has been involved with Bowling Green Girls Cotillion of 2009 and 2010, Dynamic Dance All-star teams as a dancer, and now as the Youth All-star head coach. She also attends Woodburn Baptist Church.

She chose her career at a young age. At 12 years old when her mom started to ask her about my calling in life. “I began to seek God’s plan for me,” said Carli Cornell.  “God made me good at being with people, and he also gave me a passion for makeup and hairspray. What better way to be with people than to make them feel beautiful on the inside and out. Each time someone new sits in my chair, I strive to make them feel more important than anyone else in the room. So I just knew that being a hair stylist was what I was meant to do.”

Aside from her career, she has one other major love in her life.  Carli’s 11 month old Great Pyrenees named Rajah. “My favorite thing to do as a hair stylist is coloring and highlighting- there are endless opportunities with color. I also offer services like Shellac, waxing, hair repair treatments, makeup, updo’s, and of course hair cutting.”

Of course we had to ask her favorite local businesses:

1. Jacksons Orchard– the baskets and the other home styled things always make me want to travel and they also just add a touch of originality to my collection of furniture and totes. And there is no better place to buy peaches or apple cider.
2. Tattered Threadz- the little boutique that is located inside of Friendz salon always has original pieces of clothing, jewelry, other accessories, and shoes. It’s a girls best friend. I know that what I purchase there will be so original and fun. It’s just the perfect place to shop.
3. MacKenzie’s– I love going in and buying fresh flowers for the kitchen. Nothing makes a day better than buying a bundle of sunflowers to put in a vase on the kitchen table. Not to mention that each of my bouquets for prom were so beautiful and elegant that I could have never found any florist better to go to for that.
4.Heart Strings– I am all about original pieces of jewelry, decorations, bags, totes, and more. This place has all of that. I just love going in there because I know that not everyone will have what I have when I leave there.

Make an appointment today with Carli. You can walk in at 2800 Scottsville Road Ste. 102 or call for an appointment at 782.1516. Check out Friendz Salon’s facebook page and Tattered Threadz facebook page.
