We’re getting to know the Owners, Managers and Artisans of some of our great partners. Today we speak with Ronda Moore of “Rockin’ Ronda Repurposed” a New Store In Smith’s Grove:

1. Tell us a little about you as a person. Where are you from, what are your hobbies and what inspired you to create your store?

I am a 29 year radio veteran from Chicago, spent 5 years at Nashville’s 103 KDF during its hey day. For fun I treasure hunt, which led me to open my third store, RR RePurposed. First store was called Retro Threads (self explanatory) on Fountain Square late 90’s. Second store Retro Trends ( vintage clothes & STUFF)on Broadway closed 2000.

2. What is your earliest memory of your work, what got you interested in it?

Dumpster diving age 10. Saw a cool filing cabinet next to dumpster, dragged it home, cleaned it up, and the madness began.

3. What is your favorite thing you sale?

Everything is my “FAVORITE” I only sell it if I love it

4. Who are your influences in life and your work?

Musicians: Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith. Bands seemed to get to live their life on their terms…I like that. One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite people: Stevie Nicks on cell phones, “I don’t have one, I DON’T want to be reached anywhere at any time!” I concur.

5. If you had to choose a last meal, what would you eat?

Italian beef, dry, no sweet peppers, xtra hot peppers, fries and drink from Big Al’s Chicago Style on the bypass! Authentic Chicago food!!

6. How important is local business collaboration to you?

Very! As a matter of fact, all the little shops in Smiths Grove including RRR, refer customers to each other, we advertise as a conglomerate, and realize the importance of each other as individuals, and as the “antique district” representatives.

7. What event in Bowling Green (or Charity) are you involved with?

Toys for Tots, Coats for Kids, A Case for Dignity.

8. What do you see for the future of your business in Bowling Green and serving South Central Kentucky?

Slow steady growth until I conquer the world!

9. What other locally owned businesses in town do you enjoy shopping, eating or patronizing?

Community Farmers Market, Mellow Matt’s Music & More, Big Al’s Chicago Style and Morris Jewelry.
