Orchestra Kentucky opens its 13th season, the first in the newly-built Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, with a new, commissioned work by Neil Sedaka, entitled “Kentucky Capriccio.” The concert continues with American composer Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring.” Pianist Jeffrey Biegel returns to the Bowling Green stage for George Gershwin’s masterpiece, “Rhapsody in Blue.” The concert concludes with two of classical music’s greatest hits: Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” and Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.”
