Southern Kentucky Genealogical Society Meeting At Kentucky Museum Tonight! Topic: “Researching Across the State Line and Other Borders.”

The next meeting of the Southern Kentucky Genealogy Society will be held tonight, in the Kentucky Building at Western Kentucky University. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm.

The speaker will be Sue Forshee Cooper who will discuss Researching Across the State Line and Other Borders.

Sue is a native Kentuckian who now lives in Tennessee. She helped establish the Simpson County (KY) Archives and Museum and served as the Director for over 10 years; editor of the “Jailhouse Journal” newsletter. Sue was commissioned a KY Colonel in 1992 for her preservation work. She also is a member of Association of Professional Genealogists, Simpson County Chapter DAR and the Middle TN Genealogical Society and has been doing professional genealogical research for about 15 years.

Join them for a interesting evening with a great researcher.

Upcoming meetings include the following topics: Fold3 (website); Visiting the Tennessee State Library and Archives, Manuscripts, Preserving Family Heirlooms, Digitizing Artifacts and Photographs, Kentucky’s Moving Borders and More.

Membership is open to anyone interested in genealogy. Annual dues for individual and family memberships are presently $20.00 U.S. per calendar year. (Jan – Dec). This includes a subscription to The Longhunter, (one subscription per family membership) Anyone joining the society during the course of the year will receive the four quarterly publications.
