Clear your calendar for Saturday, October 18, 2025, and meet us at Ephram White Park. The Third Annual Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma 5K Run and Walk is not just another feel-good charity stroll. It’s a call to move. To show up. To run or walk for people fighting a disease that most folks can’t even pronounce, much less understand.
Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune disease as well as rarely talked about. It tightens skin. It hardens organs. It doesn’t care how old you are. It doesn’t care if you eat kale or go to church or mind your own business. But we care. Which is why we show up.
And this year, the Bowling Green Running Club made it official. This is a 2025 Grand Prix Race, which means if you’re chasing points, you better be there. If you’re chasing purpose, even better.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Registration starts at 8:00 AM
- 5K Run kicks off at 9:00 AM
- Any Distance Walk begins at 9:05 AM
Bring your people. Bring your shoes. Bring whatever strength you’ve got left after this ridiculous year.
Register before October 3 if you want a shirt or tank. Otherwise, you’ll still get sweat and satisfaction, which should be enough.
Scan the code. Sign up. Show up.

Sponsorships are open. Local businesses, this is your chance to put your name next to something that matters. Contact dbartos@scleroderma.org before someone else gets your spot.
Some people run for medals. Some people walk for stories. This is for the fighters who do both just to get through the day. Show them they’re not alone.
