We Continue Buy Local Month 2018 Presented by BuyLocalBG.com! Here is the Second week of events.

Buy Local Month 2018 is a shopping, arts and entertainment event from November 15th- December 15th. We wanted to give southern Kentucky the chance to take those local dollars during the gift giving season and keep them local (meaning with local merchants in southern Kentucky, Louisville and Middle Tennessee since we know traveling does take place for these shopping trips). The key is to find the non-chain stores and shop the small to medium businesses in our area. We are also during this month via Facebook and Twitter going to give HYPER-LOCAL giveaways (via social media) with local artists and businesses. Here are the events through the Buy Local Month (click highlighted links for more):

November, 26th Monday-

  • Pet Photos with Santa at Greenwood Mall- Mondays from 5 PM – 8 PM (November 12 – December 17). Bring your pet (dogs and cats only, please) for a photo with Santa! Leave with an adorable pic to share with your friends & followers.

November, 27th Tuesday-

  • Community Farmers Market Holiday Night Market-Tis the Season for our ho-ho-Holiday Night Market!
    Join CFM on Tuesday, November 27th as the Market is transformed into a winter holiday shopping wonderland!  The regular Tuesday Market will be held from 2:00-4:00pm, and then at 4:00, their Holiday Night Market will be in full-swing!  Find all your Market favorites, visiting local artisans, food trucks, live music, and even a visit from that jolly old elf himself!  Fun for the whole family, all while you shop for locally-made gifts for all the good girls and boys on your “nice” list!If you’re a local artisan or food truck that would like to participate in our Holiday Night Market, email marketmanagercfm@gmail.com for a link to apply!

November, 28th Wednesday-

  • Children’s Ornament Workshop Hosted by Riverview at Hobson Grove– Participants will learn sewing skills and come away with a beautiful handmade Christmas ornament! $12 per child.   • Holiday Market at Shakertown– One of Kentucky’s finest antique and craft markets, just in time for Christmas! Features over 30 regional antique vendors and artists, all nestled in the historic atmosphere of the South Union Shaker Village. ADMISSION: A canned food item or donation that will be distributed to those needful.
  • Christmas in Kentucky at the Kentucky Museum– Join the Kentucky Museum as they host its twelfth annual holiday event, Christmas in Kentucky. This free, family-oriented event has become a holiday tradition with many area residents. Conveniently scheduled after Bowling Green’s Christmas Parade, Christmas in Kentucky is guaranteed to put guests of all ages in the holiday spirit!   • Diamond Rio Holiday & Hits Countdown to Christmas at SKyPAC– Formed in 1989 in Nashville, TN the Diamond Rio consists of Gene Johnson (mandolin, tenor vocals), Jimmy Olander (lead guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo), Brian Prout (drums), Marty Roe (lead vocal), Dan Truman (keyboards), and Dana Williams (bass guitar, baritone vocals).
  • “Miracle on College Street Mile” One Mile Run and Walk!– This will be a timed one-mile run and the official start to the Bowling Green Christmas parade. Family friendly and kids are encouraged. All proceeds will go to Life’s Better Together. When: December 1, 2018 Time: 9:00am start Cost: Individual $20 Early Bird Registration through 10/31/18, $25 11/1/18-11/30/18 Groups and families of 4 or more will receive a 10% discount.

December, 2nd  Sunday-

  • Southern Lanes Bowling With Santa 2018!– IT’S CHRISTMAS🎄 TIME AND WE WANT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU! DECEMBER 2nd we’re having Santa 🎅 come visit. We will also have hot chocolate, cookies and crafts as well as bowling. Sign-up before and it’s $10 each child, come in the day of its $15.

  • Not So Silent Night Hosted by Living Hope Baptist Church– LHPC are kicking off their Christmas season with a Christmas festival in Bowling Green. This year, enjoy a Christmas concert featuring pop-acoustic worship group I Am They, and WOVO North Pole Radio will be broadcasting live from the event. Food trucks, inflatables, fire pits w/ s’mores, photo booths, games, and MORE! It’s an event for the entire community, and it’s FREE (excluding food trucks/vendors). So bring your friends and family.
  • Christmas Tour 2018 hosted by Landmark Association– Landmark Association & Meyer Mortgage
