Last year we started Buy Local Month. Not because we weren’t happy about Small Business Saturday but because we believe shopping local, being entertained locally and acting local shouldn’t be contained to one day after the big box stores had their sales. We wanted our community to be one that supported our local musicians, artists, musicians and children during this holiday season. We have started delivering our Holiday issue of our magazine and you can pick those up at partner locations. This is going to be a page you want to book mark as we have become a curator of all things local. Here are some of the events, sales and other things you may want to see this week:

2016 Buy Local Art, Entertainment and Events all Buy Local Month
- 38th annual Trees of Christmas at the Eloise B. Houchens Center. The Trees of Christmas will be open each day November 25th through December 16th- Monday – Friday 10am-2pm Saturday- 10am-4pm Sunday- 1pm-4pm
- Polar Express at the Historic Railpark and Train museum- The Polar Express Storytime’s will take place on November 28, 29, 30, December 1, 5, 6, 7, & 8 at 4:30, 5:00, 5:30, 6:15, 6:45 and 7:30 pm. The Polar Express is a free event, but all participants must have a ticket in order to board the train for the storytimes. RailPark members can call or visit, non-members may reserve tickets in person only by visiting RailPark in person at 401 Kentucky St., Bowling Green, KY 42101 or by calling 270-745-7317.
- 24th Annual Jack Lunt Memorial Juried Art Exhibition at The Downing Museum- The Jack Lunt Memorial Juried Art Exhibition began in 1987 as a collaboration between southcentral Kentucky philanthropist, Jerry E. Baker and the Capital Arts Alliance. For twenty-two years, the show was exhibited in the Capital Arts Center Houchens Gallery and included a wide variety of pieces from artists throughout the region.
