Meet Tori Trujillo (her Instagram is rattacat). Tori is another featured artist at our bi-annual pop-up October 22nd. Tori daylights as a server at our local Mellow Mushroom, but uses her free time to dedicate towards her craft. Tori is a multi-media artist with a focus in hand-stitched embroidery, watercolor paintings, and illustration.

The time is nigh, Bg, for the 3rd installment of the Pop-Up Art & Comic Shop The Falcon’s Nest + FFOYA House. Our first two events were huge successes and we’re looking forward to this one being the best one yet!

I think we’d all agree that our beloved Bowling Green has an amazing local art & music & foodie community. Unfortunately, though, not everyone is given the opportunity to display their art in local gallleries, studios, etc. generally due to lack of funds or connections. There exists in our small town a whole slew of young (and not-so-young) up-and-coming artists, craftsmen, and musicians, whom you may have not yet had the pleasure of meeting. This event was originally birthed in order to change that. We’d love to introduce you to these artists. Each artist/craftsmen will have a booth set up in our home, with their work on display and for sale, from 3-7 that evening at the Falcon’s Nest. bring yo’ cash monies to support all of these uber-talented people! We’ll have artists from all backgrounds and trades, including, but not limited to….

>Tori Trujillo– Hand-embroidered designs and original paintings
>Meranda Caswell– Found object jewelry artist who specializes in hand-crafted resin pendants, guages, and more.
>Victoria Cortazzo–
> Timbo Slice–Graffitti artist
> Katie Reetzke– Hand-made clothing & terrariums
> Loren Gifford– Photographer
> Jordan Speer– Digital artist & illustrator
> Cae Normanha– Illustrator
> Melissa Jolly– Handcrafted jewelry artist specializing in hand-stamped metal, wood, and more.
> Brittnie Lineberg– Painter & illustrator
> Jennie Fowler– Digital artist & illustrator
> McKenna Smith Means– Ethically sourced skulls & oddities
> Alison Taylor– Gourmet baked goods (AKA Littlefox Bakery)
> Drew Guy– Lighting + illumination artist
> Sena Bean Fowler– Small-batch hand-crafted bath salts, balms & more.

After the Art portion of the event winds down at the Falcons’ Nest, (around 7), lets all hop on over a couple blocks to the FFOYA House (1035 Kentucky St.) where we will have 3 talented local bands ready to woo you with their musical chops. The lineup is as follows, and is subject to addition…

> Sword of Damocles– super group comprised of musicians from other local BG bands who have formed in order to cover all of your favorites from the Rocky Horror Picture Show!
>Full FrontalSaurus — High energy pop punk rock from BGKY
>Waco Bell– Hip-hop trio from BGKY

Most of the information you need to know is featured on the event poster, which was designed by our own, Chuck Falcon. But, there are a couple other things happening at this shin-dig that we want to fill you in on…

1.) We will be having a raffle throughout the evening in which each artist will donate a piece of their choosing to be raffled off to a few lucky winners. The proceeds from the raffle will go to support the bands playing this event. The raffle will last until 9, after which we will read the winners (you do not have to be present to win, as long as you’ve left your phone number on the drop ticket.)

2.) Chuck Falcon will be spinning some vinyl on the record player throughout the art show portion of the evening at The Falcon’s Nest. Be nice to him and he may be persuaded to take requests.

3.) The Falcon’s Nest has acquired a few new arcade machines in the last year, such as Centipede, Donkey Kong, and a few more, so bring your quarters and play till your heart’s content!

4.) MexOut has graciously agreed to donate a spread of some of their delectable food for the art show portion of the event, so bring your appetites! There will also be complimentary wine and craft beer, so feel free to imbibe if you’re over 21 and be sure to ‘tip’ your bartenders (these tips will also go to the bands playing the event).

I would say this is shaping up to be an incredible event! I want to give a huge thank you and shoutout to our sponsors– MexOut, Buy Local Bowling Green, The Spot, Rocky’s Bar, Spencer’s Coffee, and Calvin Wiley (the owner of soon-to-be-open cafe, ROAM). Bring your friends and family, and mark your calendars for this can’t-miss event! You won’t be disappointed.
