Buy Local Bowling Green is here to encourage Holiday Shoppers to BUY LOCAL and keep your holiday dollars in our community. We know that we must invest in what we value!

That’s why we are highlighting Buy Local Month starting in Early November going into the start of December. We will update events as they come in but here are some local events during the month to help set the mood or encourage your holiday shopping in Bowling Green. Use hashtag#BuyLocalMonth on social media to alert of events and photos you take for the month.

Here are the events we’ll add as they come in so check back in:

Thursday, November 5th- Morris Jewelry Estate Sale! Celebrity pieces from John Wayne, Bette Midler, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Hope, and more!

Thursday, November 5th- 4th Annual KY/TN Latte Art Throwdown & Caffeination Celebration at Spencer’s Coffee. Coffees from the best roasters in Kentucky & Tennessee. Lattes from some of the best baristas in a 200-mile radius. Door prizes, refreshments and more — admission is free, and proceeds benefit the Center for Courageous Kids! https://goo.gl/t64Gr3

Friday, November 6th- Nest Uncommon Goods Chamber Ribbon Cutting at 10am. For every purchase over $75 (any and all items) will receive a free necklace ($20 value)!

Saturday, November 7th- A Shaker Breakfast. A Civil War-era Shaker breakfast that promises to please and to astonish . . . featuring fried chicken, scrambles eggs, sweet potatoes, pork sausage, asparagus, apple pie, buttermilk biscuits and more! Served at South Union Shaker Village’s famous railroad hotel, the Shaker Tavern. Reservations required: $22 members, $25 non-members / Time: Seatings at 8:30am and 10:30am

Wednesday, November 11th- Registration for Polar Express Opens at TheHistoric RailPark and Train Museum -Bowling Green! Reserve tickets starting November 11! It is the 12th year of conducting The Polar Express storytimes aboard the Historic Railpark’s Duncan Hines Dining Car at the L&N Depot. Sponsored by Kentucky Blue Gas Co. in partnership with the Warren County Public Library and the Historic Railpark and Train Museum, families are invited to board The Polar Express November 30-December 3 and December 7-10. http://historicrailpark.com/

Friday- Sunday, November 20th-22nd- A Holiday Extravaganza featuring Sleeping Beauty. The WKU Dance Company will bring enchantment to the stage as they share a jazzed up version of the classical ballet, Sleeping Beauty. This hour long concert will mesmerize audiences of all ages. Saturday, December 5th- “Christmas at Shakertown” Holiday Market. One of Kentucky’s finest antique and craft markets, just in time for Christmas! Features over 30 regional antique vendors and artists, all nestled in the historic atmosphere of the South Union Shaker Village. Admission: A canned food item or donation that will be distributed to those needful Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm. For a “first chance” opportunity to shop, make reservations for the “Christmas at Shakertown” Preview Party, Friday evening, December 4. Enjoy coffee, cider and desserts in the most.
