Stop by Community Farmers Market on February 14 as we welcome visiting vendor Hill and Hollow Farm with Kentucky grown Meyer Lemons…that’s right, locally grown Meyer Lemons grown in their son Sasha’s greenhouse.  In addition, they will be bringing their beautiful, hand dyed w00l.  Either would make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift f0r the person wh0 has everything!
Hill and Hollow farm is tucked in the wooded hills of south central Kentucky, surrounded in fact by trees on three sides with a view to the north. The farms fields are low in the landscape, shaped and bounded by the flat rock creek and its branches. Cedar trees have replaced many acres of what was originally cleared and planted by the pioneers who built the barn and outbuildings that we now use. The farm was long since abandoned by farmers and successive owners were interested logging, woodworking and hunting, leaving the fields we inherited simply overgrown, rather than ravaged by constant crops of tobacco and the accompanying application of chemicals.
Community Farmers Market is a year-round market featuring over 50 vendors with a variety of local foods and handcrafted items. The Market also regularly offers cooking demonstrations, folk school classes and live music. Hours are Saturdays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and Tuesdays from 2-6 p.m. It is located at 2319 Nashville Road next to the WKU Store.
