We have released our eighth Partner Magazine and this time it’s cover work is done by the incomparable Print Mafia! It’s a smaller magazine than your average magazine in size but is large with information on places to buy local. We’ve also made it a double magazine to benefit all in Bowling Green! EAT [Local Food for Everyone] and Buy Local Bowling Green have decided to join forces, creating one go-to magazine this holiday season.

“The EAT initiative was started in 2012 in order to make local food more affordable, approachable and accessible to everyone in our community,” said Michelle Howell, one of the magazine’s creators. “From the beginning, Buy Local Bowling Green served as a mentor, supporter and encourager of our efforts. It just makes sense for us to develop a partnership since many of our efforts overlap.
“We will continue to offer Bowling Green resources, spotlights and tips for sourcing from local farmers while collaborating with the additional efforts of Buy Local Bowling Green. This partnership will allow those involved in the LFFE initiative additional time to invest into efforts that continue to promote a better local food system. There is always more to be done, and we look forward to digging into those things in 2015. Several new projects are already under way or in the planning stages for the coming year. Through collaboration leaders who support a strong, vibrant local economy can continue ground breaking efforts and grassroots approaches to moving us forward.”
The move also made sense for Buy Local Bowling Green.
“Seeing what EAT does for the local community, it was a an easy decision to partner with them,” said Matt Pannell, creator of Buy Local Bowling Green. “They look out for the best interests of a major component of what we want to achieve, getting people to support and eat from the local food community. We are always excited to work with groups passionate about promoting the real local businesses that define the identity of our community — not to mention the work they do to help those who may need a little help in their time of need.”
