We’re always excited to see Buy Local Bowling Green Partners work together on projects and when Community Farmers Market and Cheetah Clean teamed up for Kid’s Club it over joyed us. Owner Jeff Fields of Cheetah Clean choose to support Kid’s Club and Community Farmers Market and said, “Starting a new business has been time consuming and making it out to the market has been a challenge so I thought about becoming a sponsor or something so I could contribute to the cause. I think the local “push” is important especially when it comes to our food. People should have a relationship and knowledge of where our food comes from. It seems as though people have lost touch with a lot of important things and I want to help change that. In the end I would love to see a local farmer’s market compete with these big box stores. Especially in the hours of operation and accessibility.”

Through the kids club and Cheetah Clean’s partnership kids get a free bag and $2 in CFM tokens to spend on local food every Saturday in the month of June! “Kids club, in practice, is about getting kids involved with purchasing and consuming healthy foods. With current health trends, it seems imperative that we start getting our children involved at a young age with autonomous decision making about food. Education about healthy food choices and how that will impact them now and long term is imperative. Currently, we are definitively addressing the barrier of affordability of healthy food with offering kids tokens to spend like cash simply for being a kid. There are limits on what those tokens can be used for–prepared food items and fresh fruits and veggies. Ultimately, it’s a great way to get families and Children involved In taking more control of their own health through healing their bodies through food and creating a better quality of life for themselves,” said Michelle Howell of Need More Acres Farm.
