Flowers for Mom
Start off Mother’s Day weekend at the SKY Farmers Market this Saturday from 7am until 12 noon and we’ll help you treat her right. Enjoy a fresh-baked muffin or scone and a hot cup of coffee while you stock up on the ingredients for Sunday morning’s breakfast-in-bed: bacon, sausage, free-range eggs, fresh-baked whole grain bread, and luscious ripe red strawberries.
Mom is at the heart of your home. This weekend give her the very best from the local farmers you know and trust at the SKY Farmers Market.
Strawberry Season
Speaking of strawberries, the main outdoor crop is starting to come in. SKY Market customers have been spoiled the past couple of weeks by the incredible early season strawberries from O’Daniel Farms. This Saturday you can expect more farms to begin bringing strawberries to market as the outdoor crop begins to ripen.
We have many weeks of Strawberry Bliss ahead of us, but don’t be complacent! The season will be over before you know it. Enjoy them while they’re here in pies and smoothies and pancakes, in tarts and shortcakes, and fresh out of hand.
What’s your favorite strawberry indulgence? Don’t be shy. Go ahead. Share it with us on our Facebook page so we can all make the most of this great seasonal gift.
Gifts For Your Mother
If you’re looking for a gift as special as she is, the products at the SKY Farmers Market are as unique and diverse as the farmers, artists and craftsmen that produce them.
There’s something to be said for the classics. Hand-made soaps and lotions, a bouquet of fresh cut flowers, or a cascading hanging basket is a simple way to say “I love you” and bring just a little more joy into her life.
For a unique one-of-a-kind gift, take a look at George Shipley’s hand-crafted baskets and the natural beauty of his wooden bowls, or stop by and talk to Mya Jones about her hand-made jewelry. And if this is the year you’re going to go all out, she will absolutely adore one of Kellie Diamond’s breath-taking oil paintings.
For kids, we’ll have the potting shed set up so they can plant a flower themselves for a local and natural gift straight from their own hands.
This Mother’s Day you can find a gift crafted with care and shared straight from the heart at the SKY Farmers Market.
