An annual tradition in its 5th year, Vets ‘n Vettes event offers a number of new ways to enjoy camaraderie with others who have served. November is “Military Appreciation Month” at the Museum. Greeting cards will be available at a lobby kiosk for you to write special notes for the troops, and the cards will be sent overseas just in time for the holidays.
Thursday is dedicated to our American Warrior Recognition program. Military personnel and their guests will be brought to the NCM by Fort Campbell and Fort Knox transportation. Once here the groups will take turns touring the National Corvette Museum, having lunch at the Museum and taking a road tour in a Corvette. The road tours will be escorted by the Kentucky State Police. If you would like to drive one of our military guests, please make your selection in the registration page. Due to the uncertain # of soldiers at this time – we will notify you before the event as to the time we would like you to drive. Lunch is included for all volunteer drivers and their personal guests. During the tour sessions there will also be military themed movies in the Chevrolet Theater. Thursday evening we have a casual meet n greet in the NCM Boulevard with pizza and cold drinks.
Friday features an extended back road tour to Glendale with lunch at Whistle Stop Cafe, a poker run, a group picture, and a Military & Corvette Trivia contest. If your Corvette has a Patriotic themed paint job you can park it on the Corvette Plaza on Friday afternoon for display. On Friday there will be additional military themed movies playing in the Chevrolet Theater. Saturday is the event everyone loves – the annual Bowling Green Veterans Day Parade – where all attending Corvettes can participate! After the parade participants will caravan to Mammoth Park for a buffet lunch and return to the Museum with a stop at GTO Heaven. The event wraps up with a banquet in the NCM Conference Center. General registration for Vets ‘n Vettes is only $10.
