Mike Stutz, director of Don’t Change the Subject, will be showing his film this Thursday night (October 18th) in the DUC auditorium at 7:00 pm. Admission is free. Mike has directed a very powerful and challenging film that examines the silence and taboo that often follows death by suicide. Through a variety of artistic performances (music, dance, comedy, drama) he gives a voice to the majority of us who have been touched by the suicide of a loved one. The movie surrounds suicide. Come out and share this opportunity with anyone that could be helped by Mike’s experience and the wonderful documentary he has produced and directed. Besides being a talented artist both Mike and his wife have social service backgrounds, which helps inform Mike’s approach, in addition to Mike’s personal experience with the subject matter to back up his work.

Attendance slips will be provided for extra credit use (for the WKU Students). Light refreshments served outside the auditorium at 6:30. This film provides a stark and honest look at what people experience when a loved one dies by suicide. While obviously appropriate for those in helping professions, education, and personnel areas, it is even more appropriate for anyone who has felt the anger, sadness, or unwarranted guilt following a death by suicide. Mike is also happy to share his experience and insight in the entertainment industry for aspiring actors, directors, and producers.
Please come out tomorrow night as Mike comes back to WKU a second time to share his film. See his site below for more information about his movie: http://www.dontchangethesubject.org/
