It’s time to enjoy some wine with the Greenwood Spirits Wine Tasting tonight and tomorrow on Scottsville Rd. The 4 wines for Friday are:
Lustig Gruner Veltliner/Austria- With great balance between fruit and acidity, notes of citrus and green apple are featured in this crisp and mineral, easy-drinking white wine. Although terrific on its own, it will pair especially well with oysters, sushi, salads, asparagus, spicy foods and fried foods. In German, Lustig means “funny, merry, happy, jaunty.” With an easy-to-pop crown-cap closure and a full liter of wine in each bottle, this is a great wine to drink with friends at parties, the beach, the pool or wherever you may be in that search to be lustig! A Monika Caha Selection.
Sciarpa Pinot Grigio/Italy- This wine has wonderfully fresh, zesty flavours of lemon and lime and a tangy, dry finish. It is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany San Daniele prosciutto, salads, pasta dishes or grilled fish.
Arcangelo Salice Salentino/Italy- Since 1936, the Palamà family has been making wine on their small estate in the warm climes of the deep South of Italia, in Puglia. This wine is expressive, rich, and robust on the palate, with an elegance that comes only from small productions and expert craftsmanship. With aromas of steeped plums, cracked pepper, blackberry confit, and cinnamon it is a heady, delicious experience.
Van Loveren African Java Pinotage/South African- A truly South African cultivar flavour of mocha, chocolate and coffee. The wine has a fine ruby colour with sorft tannins that ensures a smooth finish. SA awards: Platter’s South African Wine Guide 2011.
Saturday….. well a Picture will sing to you a reason to come back:
Check out their facebook page. We’ve loved working with ‘Greenwood Spirits Shoppe,’ a locally owned businesses, and easily the best selection in town.
