One of the great things about running Buy Local Bowling Green is the places you find out about that you never would have. One of those is River Cottage Farm. Located just south of Bowling Green on Blue Level Road, their farm offers a wide selection  of items that can all be found in their Farm Shoppe. They raise their own grass fed  Highland Steers, Sheep, Goats, Chickens, Turkeys, Rabbits, and Dairy Cows.

River Cottage Farm offers  butter, maple syrup, soap, and other Kentucky Proud products from farms located  throughout the Western Kentucky region. Their store also provides literature items  on how to grow your own organic produce at home, as well as, natural household  cleaning products and bulk food items. They really do pride themselves in treating their products  with care and raising their animals in a family centered environment.

Hearth to Harvest (the farm’s blog with link below) was born of farmer Debbie Apple’s passion for simple living and sustainable farming.  Debbie owns River Cottage Farm in Rockfield, where she puts into practice her idea of moving “beyond nostalgia to authentic simplicity.”

Their slow food eating philosophy carries over to the way in which they treat their land and  subsequently you, the customer.  They are providing healthy meat, grains, and produce.  You can learn more about them and their products through the River Cottage Farm blog: http://www.hearthtoharvest.com  Or visit their Farm Shoppe: 5635 Blue Level Road Rockfield, KY 42274
