It’s been a busy week of shopping but the real kick off the Holiday season are the parades and Christmas events. Some are traditions and some are looking at the region and commonwealth’s Christmas. So many are happening this weekend so, here is a quick break down of 4 local events.

Smiths Grove Christmas Parade, “A Small Town Christmas.”

In downtown Smiths Grove Friday night there is a small town parade in honor of the theme “A Small Town Christmas.” Over 2000 people will attend and many will start claiming their spot  early in the afternoon.  The evening parade includes lighted exhibits for that extra special effect. There will be marching bands, fire trucks, beauty queens, horses, dozens of decorated floats, elected officials and much more.  Spend an evening in historic downtown Smiths Grove and rediscover that magical home town Christmas feeling. Starts at 6:00pm and will last till 8:00pm.
