It could be the charm of the log cabin off Old Louisville Road that attracted me to McKenzye’s Eatery and Bakery. Nah, it probably was when someone told me about the 2 piece Fried Chicken plate with 2 sides (Fried Okra and Potato Salad for me) with a corn cake that sold me.

Smothered Goodness!

The menu is simple and not overdone. Basic sandwiches like Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers & BLTs are on the list. Although it’s nice to see some great sandwiches that aren’t served everywhere like a good old fashioned grilled cheese, Grilled Pimento Cheese, Ham and Cheese and Fresh Chicken Sandwiches.

The Homemade desserts are awesome:

There are Veggie plates but I forgot to ask…. not assuming these are “Vegetarian” at all. This is good old fashioned meat and three that has made Bowling Green mouths salivate for decades.

McKenzye’s Eatery and Bakery does have specials and deserts daily. They are open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30am-8:00pm. It’s an easy to spot restaurant at 1567 Old Louisville Rd and you can call ahead to find out the specials at 904-4225. Hey, give it a couple tries!
