Most people walk into Spencer’s Coffeehouse on Fountain Square for the coffee. Many stay there for the great tables for a morning meeting or a nice corner spot for your coffee and wifi that gives you a great place to people watch while working. But all who try the Breakfast Sandwiches  leave with an addiction to those morning concoctions of goodness.

I have to admit my addiction comes in the form of the Sicilian Breakfast Sandwich. Served with bacon, tomato and melted provolone with creamy pesto on a fluffy croissant will have you feeling satisfied and ready to write that report you’ve been putting off.

“Roadside Latte’ in the morning.”

Others prefer the Standard (Bacon, egg and cheese on an English muffin), Variation (It’s like the Standard only ham replaces bacon), The Dairyman (Egg and three cheeses on an English Muffin) or for the Vegetarians the Humanitarian. The Humanitarian is served with Hummus, tomato, red onion and cucumber, served on the bagel of your choice. As Spencer’s menu describes it, “It’s a Sandwich with a conscience.”

There is also the good ole standby of bagels (variation) that is served toasted or plain with or without cream cheese (pretty much whatever way you like it). They also have some lovely muffins and fruit available. Many haven’t considered Spencer’s Coffehouse for breakfast and it’s criminal. A great spot for a morning sandwich and of course great coffee served in an assortment of styles. Check them out online or fan them at their facebook page.
