Come and see the Capitol Arts Youth Theatre as they present Moliere’s classic comedy Tartuffe! Disaster and hilarity ensue when Orgon, a misguided aristocrat takes the fake “holy man” Tartuffe into his trust and into his house. This classic French comedy features such memorable characters as the sarcastic maid, Dorine, the lovely but shrewd wife Elmire, the fearful daughter Marianne, the hot-headed son Damis, and of course, the conniving hypocrite Tartuffe who plots to steal Orgon’s money, marry his daughter and seduce his wife. Performed by the talented actors of the Capitol Arts Youth Theatre, Tartuffe is a lighthearted and fun way to introduce students to not only classic French literature, but rhyming couplets.
