2027 Coca-Cola Scholars Program semifinalists have been announced and three Bowling Green students made the cut. Three others in the metropolitan area are also on the list, along with just ten others statewide.
More than 113,000 applied but only 1,227 advanced (just 1.08%) to semifinalist based on their leadership and service in their schools and communities.
The three Bowling Green semifinalists are:
- Gabriel Boamah, South Warren High School
- Malleshwar Jayaraman Suresh, Gatton Academy
- Sarah Pannell, Bowling Green High School
Three other area semifinalists:
- Charlsa Graham, Hart County High School
- James-Anna Soto, Glasgow High School
- Danica Stephens, Glasgow High School
Others in Kentucky: Sj Brisley, Somerset; Talley Downs, Alexandria; Dolmara Engleman, Erlanger; Chase Gibson, Campbellsville; Taylor Grubb, Booneville; Mark Humm, Paducah; Katherine Jarboe, Louisville; Mackenzie Runyon, Shelbyville; Ramon Shen, London; Emelia Singleton, Somerset.
Finalists will be selected from essays, transcripts and recommendation letters and 250 of them will take part in interviews in January. 150 of those students will be selected via committee to be named Coke Scholars in February, securing $20,000 scholarships, attendance at a leadership development institute and access to a leadership summit every five years. They’ll be among what the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation calls world-changing leadership with fellow recipients like U.S. Senators, Congressmen, university presidents and United Nations ambassadors — Ben Sasse and Elise Stefanik being just two of them.
Congratulations!
