A 101-month prison sentence imposed on a Bowling Green man for offenses connected to his membership in terror group ISIS was vacated Wednesday by a federal appeals court, which said in a ruling that the sentence was “shockingly low” for his crimes. In addition to vacating the sentence, the three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit directed that Mirsad Ramic, 36, be resentenced by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. From the In Case You Missed it Like We Did Department… The WKU Board of Regents approved a motion for the University to purchase 10 properties along State Street and Chestnut Street. The WKU Real Estate Corporation will purchase the properties for the construction of the new Academic Complex along State and Chestnut streets. The university is still in legal negotiations to gain ownership of six of the properties through eminent domain. [WKU Herald]
Just like we told you would it would occur: Andy Barr won the Republican nomination to replace Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate. Charles Booker won on the Democratic side and he’ll lose to Barr in the fall. There are more than 100,000 fewer Democrats registered to vote in Kentucky than the last go-round, so if anyone thinks Booker is winning, that’s not gonna happen. [Herald-Leader]
After nearly two hours of discussion and repeated outbursts from a standing-room-only crowd, the Cave City City Council voted to reject a proposed zoning amendment regulating prospective data centers and instead advanced a one-year moratorium on data center development within city limits. The proposed ordinance would have amended city zoning regulations to include language and restrictions specifically governing prospective data centers and other high-impact industrial uses. [WCLU]

Early results from county clerks come in when the polls close, but even with 100% of precincts reporting, there is only a projected winner; night-of results are not official. Starting Wednesday, May 20, voting machines and ballot boxes are locked and put under video surveillance for 30 days.
