From The Spot Facebook Event page:

Are you ready to deepen your yoga journey?

Through this 200 hour program we will dive into the roots of yogic history and explore the fundamentals of a vinyasa yoga practice. Our goal is for you to feel empowered and prepared to teach a yoga class while also creating a deeper relationship within your body, mind, and personal yoga practice. Together we will explore topics such as anatomy & alignment, teaching meths, the subtle body including chakras & bandhas, philosophy, ethics & lifestyle, inclusiveness, service work & the business of yoga.

Our training will broaden your understanding of yoga through trying diverse styles, hosting guest teachers, and helping you to develop a personal yoga practice on and off your mat. This journey of self transformation will help you discover your personal power, purpose, and voice as teacher. Together we will serve our community through a service work project to connect more deeply to our yogic path.

Whether you want to learn to teach yoga or want to deepen your practice and understanding, all levels of experience are welcomed to this training.

Katherine’s Bio:

Katherine unrolled her mat for the first time in 2012. Before she even finished her first vinyasa class, she fell in love with the connection and fluidity of breath to movement flow. Having been a dancer her whole life, yoga felt intuitive in her body and filled her with a peace she had yet to know. She knew right away that becoming a yoga teacher was her next step.

She received her 200 Hour Power Vinyasa Yoga certification in 2014 in Denver, Colorado where she also managed a local studio. Her yoga teacher lineage stems from Baptiste Power Yoga and devotional Bhakti yoga. In Katherine’s yoga classes you can expect to move, sweat, and flow through a creatively sequenced vinyasa (breath-to-movement) style. Though Katherine typically offers a Power Vinyasa class, she also enjoys teaching Yin yoga -a perfect balance of water for a firey vinyasa practice.

For Katherine, yoga is more than a physical practice -it is a life practice. One that we embody on our mat and bring with us into the world. She believes that as we discover our strength through asana, we build courage in the world around us. She has recently returned to her hometown, Bowling Green, Kentucky to grow in her teaching experience and direct the yoga program at the Spot. While settling in her roots, she continues to grow and develop her personal yoga practice while also exploring other styles of fitness.
