We introduced you to Leon Vincent and his great store/gallery on 11th street last December and since then he’s been active in our local art scene with the Gallery Hop. Well, now he’s taking it to another level by honoring a local legend in a month that fits perfectly!
For the first time, the largest exhibit of John Carpenter Movie Poster art will be on display in his home town of Bowling Green, KY at Artistic Soul Studio. Original and reproduction U.S. and foreign posters from all of the movies that he directed will be on display during the “Halloween” month of October. There will be several posters from the U.S., Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Yugoslavia, etc. In addition to the movie posters on display from the Carpenter exhibit, there will be original horror movie posters from the 1940’s to 2007 that will be offered for sale.
There are 1,000 items of movie and TV memorabilia and collectibles on display with hundreds more within the walls of this virtual museum of movie history. You can find every type of U.S. and Foreign movie posters in various sizes from the silent era in the 1920’s through the 2000’s, movie and TV reference books and magazines, vintage movie sheet music, vintage movie and TV paper items including back issues of TV Guides. All posters for sale are original posters unless noted otherwise. They are the originals that would have been used in the theater or video store to advertise the coming or present movie at the venue at the time of release. All genres such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, westerns, war, romance, serials, comedy, etc. are represented by one man’s collection at this shop.
Dracula and his Assistant will make an appearance and be present during the special hours listed below for Halloween week: October 29 – October 31, 2012 from 3pm to 7pm.
