When you’re talking coffee in Bowling Green, chances are good that you’re talking Spencer’s Coffee, a local institution for over a decade. But if you haven’t been to Spencer’s in a while, you’re missing out on a stepped-up coffee game that you won’t find anywhere else in the region. Lucky for you, it’s Tuesday, the day that Spencer’s offers sweet discounts on its finest beans and brews.

We’re talking handcrafted coffee — brewed by hand, right in front of your eyes, and only after you order. It takes a little longer, but the results are astonishing: aromas, flavors and nuance you’ve never noticed in your coffee are boosted and highlighted when brewed by the skilled baristas at Spencer’s. The menu currently includes Mexico Chiapas, a dry, sweet coffee with a distinct peppery aroma and apricot undertones; Honduras Marcala, a tangy, vibrant cup that features notes of spice and orange zest; and the limited-time-only Heirloom Ethiopia Yirgacheffe — a coffee so bright and lively that even the cream-and-sugar crowd will want to try it black.

Prices for handcrafted coffees usually range from 50 cents to $1 more than the traditional batch-brewed coffees of the day, but on “Two Dollar Tuesday,” you’ll save up to 30 percent on what’s likely the best coffee you’ll ever have tried. Additionally, select whole-bean coffees from around the world are offered at $2 off regular price — roasted in Louisville and Nashville, most are fair-trade and organic, and all are less than a couple weeks off the roaster.

Wide variety of coffees available.

So what are you waiting for? Spencer’s Coffee is open until 9 p.m. today for Two Dollar Tuesday — get your fix for less!
