Lost River Pizza Co. is hosting a Benefit Music Festival on Saturday, July 14th, from 6 pm until after midnight at Lost River Cave.  The event is titled “The Lost River Southern Summer Music Festival” and they have a total of 8 local bands and soloists that will be performing on two different stages during the evening. Salvage Town will be head lining the Music Festival, with Seth and Ashley Mefford of Mudd River Union, The Kenton Bryant Band, and Tulei with his band, Black Cat Cadillac, also performing on our Main Stage.

All of the proceeds from The Lost River Southern Summer Music Festival are going to The Friends of Lost River Cave to help fund a new outdoor classroom that they are planning to construct to serve our local children.

Friends of the Lost River
Mission Statement: To restore, preserve, protect and promote the Lost River Cave & Valley as an historical, geological, cultural, and educational site.

Formed in 1990 in order to clean-up and restore the cave and surrounding area, the Friends of the Lost River, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Through years of effort, the organization has managed to wipe away the traces of the abuse Lost River suffered during its 30 years as a dump site. The underground boat tour, nature trails and gift shop are operated to fund the continuing struggle to preserve and maintain Lost River Cave as a cultural and natural landmark. Local guests of the park may decide to purchase a park membership, make a monetary donation or volunteer service hours to contribute to the Friends’ mission.

As a not-for-profit, Lost River Cave has several programs in the works; removal of invasive plants from the valley and upland trails, reconstruction of a Barren’s prairie and development of the 70-acre park into a Nature Center to better serve visitors to this historic eco-tourism site! Over the next several years, Lost River Cave will grow and develop into an even more amazing urban green space thanks to helpful donations of time, energy and funding from engaged individuals.
