As Topps readies the release of their flagship 2012 Topps Series 1 Baseball set, they’ve announced a pair of short print cards that capture two of the season’s biggest free agent signers in their new threads. Coming by the end of the week Steve’s Sports Cards will be your Buy Local Bowling Green spot to get these cards.
The first short print has Albert Pujols on his first card in a Los Angeles Angels uniform. The altered photo gives Angels fans a glimpse of what they can expect when he takes to the field in the spring. Jose Reyes, who signed with the newly renamed Miami Marlins, is captured on a similar card. Not only is this the first card of Reyes as a Marlin, it should also be the first card with the new uniforms.
The 2012 Topps Series 1 Baseball Albert Pujols short print is numbered 331 while the Reyes is numbered 332. Topps has already stated that variations of the cards with updated photographs and regular print runs will be a part of 2012 Topps Series 2 Baseball, which is set for release at the start of June.
