The Football Capitol of Kentucky Welcomes Back The Russell Athletic/ KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl!

The Russell Athletic/ KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl is back in Bowling Green! Come out and enjoy some championship high school football right here in South Central Kentucky!

The games will kick off on Friday with the first game, the Class 1A title game starting at 11 am as Mayfield Takes on Hazard. The Class 2A will begin at 3 pm as nearby Glasgow will take on Holy Cross (Covington). The Class 6A game will be at 7 pm Friday. The 6A Title will be between the #2 team in the USA Today Super 25 Football poll Trinity (Louisville) and the Cardinals of Scott County.

On Saturday, the games will start again at 11 am with the Class 3A championship game where Lousiville’s Central takes on Belfry. It will be followed by the Class 4A game at 3 pm between Franklin-Simpson and Highlands. The final game will be the Class 5A game at 7 pm that night. The game we’ve all been waiting for as our hometown Bowling Green Purples take on Anderson County.

All games will be played in WKU’s Houchens – Smith Stadium on campus.

Parking Structure 2 ($8) and the Creason Lot ($5) will be used for paid public parking all day Dec. 2 and Dec. 3. Parking Structure 1 ($8) will be used for paid public parking beginning with the 3 p.m. game on Friday, Dec. 2, and will be used for paid parking all day Saturday, Dec. 3. Parking will be cash only. Tailgating will not be allowed in any of the WKU lots.

The surface lots around Diddle Arena, as well as the South Lawn Lot and Russellville Road Lot, will be reserved parking for KHSAA officials and media.

After each game, traffic exiting PS2 will be directed north onto University Boulevard to Kentucky Street. Traffic exiting PS1 will be directed east onto College Heights Boulevard. Traffic exiting the Creason Lot will be directed south on Creason Drive to Emmett Avenue.
