As many of you heard yesterday in our “Bowling Green Favorites” feature, ‘Great Escape’ now has a new ‘Local Artists’ section. Part of our mantra or slogan is “Eat Local, Play Local, Live Local.” We also want to promote our local artists, visual or performing. That’s why we love the new section.
We also understand we love music no matter where it comes from. We’d love for you to try to keep money local and when it comes to places that invest and promote local, nothing beats the independent record store!
Here is a list of some of the new releases today or in the past few weeks from Great Escape (We’ll link samples if video not shown).
*Bowling Green’s ‘Morning Teleportation’ has a new album ‘Expanding Away’:

*New today is Nashville’s, Caitlin Rose ‘Own Side Now.’
*Third Man Records (Owned by Jack White of ‘White Stripes’) out of Nashville puts out new Vinyl almost weekly. This is from the band ‘5,6,7,8’s’ out of Japan. The band was featured in the movie ‘Kill Bill.’

*Recently on sale is the new ‘Drive By Truckers’ new album ‘GoGo Boots.’
*Also from Athens is the obvious new R.E.M. album ‘Collapse Into Now.’
*‘The King is Dead‘ by The Decemberists is also available at GECB.
*Of course some older bands like Motorhead have new CDs. Their album is called ‘The World is Yours.’
*’Cage The Elephant’ had their album released on 1-11-11 and it’s still a big seller. Of course they are a Bowling Green band as well.

So get out there and buy some CDs or Vinyl and enjoy the experience of what a record store has to offer!
